"Thinking of you" Card - Tammy Tutterow Designs

Hey friends!
I'm glad I still have some new things in my file to share with you as I haven't really been able to be upstairs enough to create since the accident. It's another two weeks before I can even start to put weight on my foot ( with the boot on). ugh   Nothing is happening fast enough for me at this point.  It's been over 7 weeks now ... and it feels like it's been every bit of that if not more. I ( strongly dislike) not being able to do what I want, when I want.  lol  I AM my fathers Daughter. lol

This is a card made using another one of Tammy Tutterows beautiful stamps.
I LOVE that these stamps are so easy to color!

I'm a member of an online group for people with foot and ankle injuries, and I have to tell you... its been a great source of info and support.   Of course each person and their injuries and circumstances are different but it still really helps give you an idea of what to expect.
I quickly saw that I wasn't the only one having a hard time being patient with this healing process.  I don't like feeling like a negative Nelly but some days are just frustrating.
One of the ladies said "I try to look at it as a sort of vacation".     Now I love optimism and I think that trying to find the good in things is always best...... but lol  There is nothing about this experience that I could make feel like a vacation. hahaha  ( I'm thinking she has some really  great pain meds) lol

So focusing on the positive.... I am going to share the best time I've had in quite a while.   My sis and brother in law came Saturday night and brought dinner with them. Keith did all the grilling and Jan had made all the food.  It was amazing!
It was so nice, we sat outside to eat. I felt like I was part of the living world!  Such a good time. I can never thank them enough for all they have done for us since the accident. They are just amazing people.
Check out that yummy food!

Here is my other constant  company. They can be real bed hogs.
I'm so glad we have this main floor guest bedroom, because it's been a life saver.  It is actually the master bedroom and bath, but with Dans odd work hours we have always had our bedroom upstairs away from any noise.
We used this bedroom for mom when mom stayed here, and I was so thankful for it then. Dan put a tv in here also, so that helps pass the time.  I'm getting around better now so I had be in the living room, kitchen ect, but getting upstairs to the bed every night would be impossible.

I had my first therapy session tomorrow afternoon.  I'm excited to start.  It's just one more step ( no pun indented ) to things getting back to normal.

I'm hoping you are all having a great Summer!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fancy Pants Designs and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L projects

Hey friends! I miss crafting so much, I had to do a simple project to get my "paper fix".  I wanted to craft bad enough but then new Fancy Pants product came in the mail and pushed me over the edge. lol  ahhhhh nothing like new gorgeous product to make you NEED to break out the scissors and adhesive :)
Here is the link the the new Fancy Pants Collections so you can check them out. HERE
I am using the Family & Co Collection HERE

Incase you havnt heard the fun news, Fancy Pants now had a direct sales site.  It's called " Make a Pretty Life"  and they not only have paper products but all kids of cool things!

I have this book that I use for things I need to remember.  Dates, passwords, ect.  It's always on my desk.  Today I decided to dress it up a bit.   (nice easy project to get back in the swing of things with right? ) yes!

This collection is filled with color.  I just used the floral paper for my book because I LOVE it.  But below you can see all the coordinating goodies of this  collection.

When I am covering a bigger area I always reach for these Adhesive Sheet.  They are amazing!
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive Sheets
You can see the variety of sizes they come in here

They work fantastic! Here you can see the adhesive on the book as I pull the sheet away.

For general use, I grab my E-Z Runner Grand Dispenser

This looks pretty nice on my desk. Yay!  One thing about about things like this, you can cover them with new paper and it feels like you have something brand new.  Any way, it's just nice to have something new and different to look at  on my  desk :)    AND..... I got to  play with the new paper collection a little bit.

Monday I was back to the Orthopedic Surgeon.  I was thrilled to have the pins removed, as they were so painful when I moved around in my boot.   The screws stay in. (whew!).
I have another six weeks in the boot.  I can start putting some weight on the foot in three weeks.
I will start  therapy soon.
I know this is all good news, but I have so much I want to do, and I'm having a hard time with being patient.  At this point, nothing seems to be happening fast enough.
I know that once I can get around, it's going to take some time to get back to normal.  I can't believe how easily I get tired! ugh!   The soreness in my chest and back had improved a lot over the   last weeks, but it's crazy that it's still quiet sore.

I have been coloring and painting a bit from my chair.   I am loving all Tammy Tutterows stamps!

Maybe I'll have some already colored images for cards with this is done. lol

Other that that, I've been enjoying listening to the owls.  There have been so  many this year.   I need to keep my camera down stairs so I can catch a photo again. This photo is from a couple of years ago.

I've been thinking of my parents a lot this week.   It would have been my Dads Birthday and their Anniversary this past week. Fathers Day this coming weekend.
Boy was a blessed to have these people for parents!
I miss them so much!

I hope all of you had a great week!
Thank you..... as always, for coming by!

I will be back soon

"Home Sweet Home" Stamp and Stitch using Tammy Tutterow Designs

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all doing great.  Things are progressing well here.  Not fast enough for me but I'm trying to be patient. ( emphasis on trying) . It's been six weeks since the  accident, and Monday I go back to the Orthopedic Doctor to get the pins removed from my foot. Excited to have them out, as it's another inch closer to recovery and walking...but I have to admit I'm a little apprehensive.  It just kind of makes my stomach flip.  Glad the screws stay in.  Anyway... things are getting better.  The extreme soreness in my chest and back from the seat belt and air bag has improved a lot! Not gone..but much, much better.

I miss being in my room and crafting so much! I hope I get good news on Monday so I can start therapy and be able to do more.  The projects I've been sharing are projects I had finished and photographed before the accident. I'm glad I had worked ahead a bit.

The stitched piece below  was done on a piece of canvas.  I stamped the image on canvas with one of Tammy Tutterows stamps (shown below).  After stamping , I used embroidery floss, and got busy stitching.  Oh, how I love hand stitching! I find it so relaxing.
It's getting harder and harder to find embroidery patterns these days, so I'm thrilled to know I now have so many options for designs to stitch, using my larger stamps.    This photo doesn't do this justice. The glass in the frame was giving me glare, no matter what I did. ugh!  But these stamps work great for stitching!

I decided to mist the edges with Glimmer Mist to make it stand out a bit. Making sort of a  mat .

Here is the stamp I used.  Home Sweet Home
As you can see if you click on the link, there are so many stamps that would make great stitching projects.

A helpful hint to hold your fabric down nice and flat is to use these Adhesive Sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.   I placed the double sided adhesive sheet down on the chipboard piece that fit inside the frame. I pulled the backing off (it's double sided) and laid my fabric down on top, smoothing and flattening from the center of my stitched piece out to the edges.  It works perfectly!

Nothing makes me happier then when my favorite little people come to visit.  Lyla and her new baby brother Henry were here last week to say hello. I am loving watching these two grow up.  I feel so blessed to have them living just a few miles up the road.   A lot of people see me posting photos of all the precious little ones  in my life and obviously assume they are my grand kids.  Truth is.. my kids don't haven kids yet, but the the parents of these kids and their grandparents are good at sharing them with me.
Lyla and Henrys parents are good friends of both our kids.  Andrew and Wes met in College.  Andrew and Kate ended up buying a farm just a few miles up the road from us.   Thankful everyday to have them in our lives.

Wyatt and Emmett ( who you see a lot of photos of here) also live just miles from us.  And Gabby, their mom, and Wes have been friends since the beginning of  High School.
It's actually kind of crazy that none of us lived here when we first met,we all lived in other towns.  It just happen that we all ended up with in miles of each other.    I'm so thankful for that!   I adore these kids and their parents!

We had some really nice days this week, so Dan wheeled me out on the deck to enjoy it one gorgeous evening.  I've  only left the house two times in the last  six weeks ( and that was for doctors appointments) so this was really nice.  We've enjoyed  a number evenings our on the deck since then.
We stayed out there until long after dark.  It was a gorgeous evening!

Other exciting news this week.   Jarad and Kate have been looking for an acreage near the town that Kate teaching in and Jarad is on the volunteer Fire and EMS for, for quite some time now.   This week they purchase their dream place.   It's an old school house that as been added on and remodeled in to a gorgeous home.

We are SO excited for them!  It's SO  fitting for them.   They wont be any farther from us than they are now ( this mom says with relief) lol
They have now listed their current home for sale. Hopefully that will happen quickly.
They will keep their cabin of course. They love that place, and have so many good friends out there.

I am in LOVE with the windows and brick between the kitchen and living room!
They are thrilled about getting this place.

Boy, I wrote a book today. lol  If you got this far... yay for you. lol   I know some readers are just interested in crafts...and that's great, thank you for coming! I always try to post the craft first.  For those of you who have been with me from the beginning and enjoy reading about my "life stuff" and family... thank you!    I appreciate the comments from those of you recently saying , you look forward to the  photos and family update.   It's amazing how many people love seeing photos of everyday Nebraska.  Many who have lived in the Midwest at one time and how lives somewhere else.
When I first started blogging over 11 years ago now, I was mostly scrapbooking, and I could not understand why I would separate "family" and "scrapbooking", because in my mind they meshed.
Family was the reason I started scrapbooking.  And family is a big part of my life.  So, I continue to blog the same way I always have.

Whatever your reason is for stopping by , know that I appreciate you coming by!

I'll be back soon!

Baby shower for Erin and Ryan .. and my sister is super woman

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd share some baby shower photos with  craft and decorating ideas.  Please bare with me if things aren't just right. I had the photos uploaded but I am doing all the typing from my phone. It's dealing me fits).
My sis and I have hosted a number of showers, especially over the last few years, so we've kind of gotten in the swing of it. We really enjoy doing it together! This time, because of my accident happening and me being in the hospital the day the shower was planned.... things were a bit different. All I can say is... my sister is Wonder Woman and my family is amazing!  My sis was on her own when it came to getting together all the food we had planned. She pulled of... in true Jan style!  I knew family
Would do their best to help and they sure did! I was so happy the family jumped right in and  was there to help her with getting it all out ,set up, decorating, serving, cleanup ect. They all just jumped right in! Erin's family too, of course!  They took care of the games also, which was so helpful!

Here are some photos my brother in law Keith took and sent me.  The shower was to celebrate the arrival of Erin and Ryan's baby girl.  This will me Jan and Keiths second grandchild. First girl grandchild.

Ryan and Erin

We started renting this clubhouse a few years back and found it to be a great place . Close and convenient For most everyone.
Luckily Jans and I are pretty good at getting anything we can... done ahead, so as far as the other things for the shower... we had them pretty much finished and ready. We had all the decor in plastic bins and ready to go.  Since we live in different towns, all we had to do was coordinator getting it all together. Wes had been driving from the hospital in Omaha ( and where he and Amy live) the 50 miles or so to our house to take care of our dogs, since dan stayed nights at the hospital with me.
When he was there, he loaded up the bins of shower stuff and brought it to my sisters car at the hospital ( where she had spent the night with me).
It's amazing what you can pull off when you need to! Lol

My sis had painted those darling bunnies, and I made the chalk board.
I make the chalkboard in the frame.

In my eyes ( and many others) my sis is not only about the most kind hearted person I've ever known but she can do almost anything! She is one amazing person!  Her latest achievement... losing over 50 pounds.
She had been my protector for as long as I can remember. She was 13 when I was born, so I was like her baby doll growing up. When I was little and she moved out of the house after college, I cried every weekend that she had come home to visit and had to leave again.
She is my best friend, my role model, mentor, listening ear, and shoulder to cry on when I need it.
I always know I can depend on her. She is a "constant" in my life. My security blanket ❤️

Like I said, the day of the shower family new the situation and jumped right in to help in my absence.

Boy, am I blessed with amazing people in my life!

Here are some close up shots of the mantel,

Below is a little framed image and a gues/gift list/ photo memory book I made using Tammy Tutterow's stamps.

I found this little pink wagon at a thrift sale and fell in love with it. We used it for cards.

Some of my sister cute things used for decor

I had made some little banners and pinwheels for the cakes.

And, like I said... my sis pulled off all the food we had planned.

They had a great turn out. I was sad I couldn't be there , and feeling bad for not being there to help, but boy, they did a great job! It was so cool that they could text me photos all day so that I could see the festivities even if I couldn't actually be there.

I was thrilled the shower went so well and thankful for having such an amazing family to jump
Right in and help❤️ What a great day to celebrate the baby girl we. Will get to meet next month!

I was bummed about not getting to see Ryan and Erin but so touch that they back tracked to come visit me the next day before heading. ask to CO. They are such amazing people and are going to be such wonderful parents!!

At this poimt I'm just going to post this and hope it all comes together into something you can understand lol   I will be SO glad when I can get back to my computer!!

I go back to the orthopedic surgeon a week from Tues to get the pins removed. Hooping for good news.

Hugs, Vicki
